Alex has over 20 years of experience working with dozens of nonprofits and social benefit corporations to generate the organizational impact and necessary resources that produce inspiring, innovative outcomes for a just and regenerative world.

Having held all the key Director positions in non-profits, Alex understands a holistic approach to creating impact and raising money. He has personally raised over $100M through thousands of conversations with donors. His clients have gone on to raise over $80M, each within their first two years of working with Alex.

Seeing the power of this approach, Alex delivers courses and workshops that train leaders to succeed in fundraising by telling a compelling narrative and inspiring donors to align with organizations and take decision action with their money.

Methodology

Fundraising is about alignment. To make a signficant contribution, a donor needs to find alignment with their head, their heart, and their hara.

  • Their head is the rational mind, focused on ROI and strategy.

  • Their heart is where passion and vision reside.

  • Their hara (their gut) is the place of trust and action.

Each donor needs to feel their alignment to varying degrees with all three of these, and then will make a gift consistent with the depth of that alignment.

To achieve this alignment in a donor, we focus on three areas: The Message, The Messenger, and The Machine.

The Message

Your message is the embodiment of your organization’s goals, strategies, and capacity to deliver on its impact.

It is here that your donor determines if they are aligned with your organization, and how they will choose to make a gift or not.

Craft a narrative that hits the right emotional notes, clearly defines your plan, and speaks directly to what matters to your donors.

The Messenger

Whether your donor gives money to your organization or not is not about you. It is about their alignment with your message.

And you are the messenger. You can either facilitate their clarity of alignment, or make it murkier.
